MMAOddsBreaker.com can now officially confirm UFC Heavyweight Stipe Miocic has been forced from his forthcoming UFC Fight Night 76 bout against Ben Rothwell because of an unspecified training accident. Both top 10 fighters were scheduled to throw in the co-main occasion of next Saturday’s (October 24, 2015) occasion in Dublin, Ireland, which will be headlined by the lightweight battle between Joseph Duffy and Dustin Poirier and will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass. Miocic (#3 ranked HW) was coming off the most remarkable performance of his career, a fifth round TKO stoppage of former title challenger Mark Hunt where he set a UFC heavyweight record for most strikes landed at a single fight. He’s won four of his last five fights with his only loss being a decision against former champion Junior dos Santos. Rothwell (#7 ranked HW) is currently riding a three-fight win streak which included surprising first round angry stoppage successes over the Matt Mitrione and Alistair Overeem. There has been no word yet regarding whether or not UFC matchmakers are going to be able to get a last minute replacement for Miocic or if Rothwell is going to probably be forced off the battle card entirely.
